Some other things I appreciate on my walks around Butte...

P.S. Happy Birthday + Happy Earth Day = Happy Bearth Day to Vern and Lola! Hope you both have a wonderful day.

A Butte Treasure

Ok, I admit I have been waxing nostalgic about this unique city I'll be leaving in a few weeks. I have been walking outside a lot lately because Spring finally decided to grace us here in Butte, and stumbled upon a scene right out of an "I Spy" book. You guys know what I'm talking about? They're the books with the crazy cluttered pictures that includes a poem with items you have to find in the picture.

Well here it is, a house that is actually inhabited (I know because I saw a man walk out of the front door):

The back of that white truck was chock full of crushed soda cans, old tires, and who knows what else.

Something tells me this garage is not functional.

Items you may find on the exterior of this house: horseshoes, hose faucet knobs, pulleys, chains, birdhouses, a rusty saw, a miniature old-fashioned car figurine, buckets, barrels, and a canoe. Sadly, I was unable to locate a garden gnome.

Dress and Behavior.....

So I had a patient today bring me two fishing hooks used for sharks, a 20 year old fishing catalog, a rusted out and filthy Kmart fly-fishing reel, and 5 articles printed off the internet about business casual attire for men and women, proper attire at a country club and proper behavior at a country club

????????????????????????

Anyways, I passed the last of my board exams, so I'm almost officially a dentist......

Also, for those who haven't been paying attention to world news, there has been a recent and destructive earthquake in L'Aquila, Italy. I served longer in this city than any other in the mission field, and fell in love with the city and the ancient buildings, some of which over 500 years old. No members were injured, but my former branch president and former district president are now homeless, living in tents or out of their car. About 30000 people are now homeless, maybe more, which is about half of the city. Please keep these people in your prayers as they try and overcome this tragedy and rebuild their lives. Thanks.

Seriously?

Is anybody out there really so busy that they need gmail to respond to their emails and make decisions for them?

I hope this is a joke, because if it is, it's pretty hilarious.

Anybody as curious as I am? Maybe I'll turn my autopilot on after I quit my job. What harm can come of that, right?
