Update

Note to self: Cornbread is probably one of the messiest foods you can feed to Mikey. There were cornbread crumbs in his neck, his diaper, his ears, and in every crack of the high chair, but it made for really cute pictures!

This is how Mikey fell asleep one time. When we go to get him from his crib, we often hear muffled cries and we walk in to find him with his forehead/face buried in the mattress, his butt sticking up in the air, and his feet on the mattress with his legs extended. We have a yoga baby, what can I say? He has mastered the position of down dog.

In other news, we finally got topsoil for our yard. The soil that was already in our lot has WAY too much salt content for anything to grow, especially grass. So we had 10 cubic yards delivered to our house and dispersed it all with our own four hands. Shovel, wheelbarrow, rake. Sore muscles.

The almost finished product... See Mikey's high chair in the driveway/garage? He was watching us again, and eating Cheerios. He said we did alright.

Happy Belated Halloween

This was Mikey's 1st Halloween (outside the womb) and he was the cutest penguin I've ever seen. I found this costume for him at a second-hand baby store in town and it was a screaming deal at $2.50. It was plenty warm for him too. We went to our ward's trunk or treat for about an hour and half. Kevin and I didn't go all out on costumes, but I made a pretty sweet mohawk, wore my only Halloween shirt (thanks, Mom!) and some fishnet stockings and tennis shoes. I guess I was kind of a punk rocker. Kevin fashioned some vampire fangs at work that actually fit over his real teeth. It looked kinda freaky, especially when he'd bare his fangs like in the picture above. No, he did not suck my blood that night! (Whew.)

Here we are at the trunk or treat. Mikey was having lots of fun watching all the people (especially the kids) go by in their costumes. I'm sure he was quite confused by the whole thing.

Mikey sat in my trunk by the candy bowl for a while, passing out treats. He didn't eat any candy, of course, but he liked to play with the wrappers because of the fun crinkling sound.

He stayed up about an hour and half past his bedtime. We found him like this on the floor shortly after we got home. Poor guy is just tuckered out. I love his little penguin tail!
