Well hello my name is Jamie, and I like to do DRAWRINGS

I haven't busted out the ol' sketch pad in a long while, but got some inspiration (or guilted into it) when a friend from high school art class found me on facebook and asked if I had done any artwork recently. "What do I have to show for the last two years of my life??" I thought. "What have I been doing? Getting a Master's degree? Oh puh-lease." There's really no good excuse, but now that I'm done with school I have time to dedicate to all my hobbies I've put on standby lo these many years. So I drew something/someone that has been on my mind "a fair amount" lately. It still needs some work, as you can see, but I'm looking for suggestions as to what should go BEHIND us. The original picture was a scene in Sedona... pretty, pretty red rocks and cacti. But wouldn't it be more fun to substitute it for something else? Maybe Delicate Arch, the Salt Lake Temple, Machu Picchu, the Swiss Alps, a circus, some sharks, one of those cool bubble backgrounds that my elementary school Filipino girlfriends had behind their portraits at the mall, or perhaps a pirate ship. Then Kevin could have a parrot on his shoulder. Yes.

Ideas will be appreciated, and possibly used... if they're cool enough.

I have no ideas about background sketches, but I do love your blog. Kevin, you are THE man. If I didn't believe it before (which I did) then I'd be totally behind you now because anyone who would let someone call him Kevypoo in public has got to have the right stuff. Jamie, the sketches are really good. Really good.

Wow, your talents amaze us. The art work is incredible... If you really would like suggestions of a background, maybe the pic of the wind river mountains you first fell in love with or the Salt Lake Temple. But what ever comes out of your quick brain will delight us... possibly a hawk or eagle on his shoulder would work because I can't really see Kevypoo as a pirate, but maybe a mountain man:) Again your sketches are amazing.

Maybe you should do a collage of all the things you have accomplished together below your heads and what you are accomplishing now together at head level then what you want to accomoplish in the future above your head. I am the last person to give suggestions but i think that it would be cool but you have to make all the pictures connect. Okay I love your drawing you are the bomb! Maybe you could take tanners baby picture and my baby picture and combine them to allow us to see what our children will look like in the future.

I love your sketch, Jamie. I think you should copy it when you're done and give one to me and one to Kevin's mom. I'm always so greedy, aren't I? It's all about me, you know. hee hee

Nicea - Kevypoo is THE man.
Cheryl - A Wind Rivers scene is not a bad idea... Maybe with a hawk flying in the background.
T&A - Your kids will be too beautiful for me to ever represent in a drawing.
Mom - consider it done, you selfish woman, you.
Lauren - Maybe if I had been born a day earlier I would be able to arrange flowers or design clothes
Sherry Carpet - Funny thing is that Kevin suggested Mt. Rushmore too, just a few hours before you left your comment. I was on the phone with him (surprise, surprise) and he said we should do Mt Rushmore on the left of us and the Eiffel Tower behind our heads. Two things that go together well, I agreed.

how is it that even after all my years in art classes, i still can't draw as well as miss i-haven't-picked-up-a-pencil-in-2-years? good work james! i think you should put me in the background. sticking out my tongue and making bunny ears on kevypoo's parrot. (nice to meet you, kevin. may i call you kevypoo?)
