Buried Treasure

This month we decided we needed some extra dough, so we started digging up our front yard to pan for gold. With Kevin wielding a pick axe, and both of us shoveling, we covered (or should I say uncovered?) a lot of ground in three days.

It's important to practice looking good while shoveling in case a car drives by. We have neighbors to impress, you know. After three days of searching for gold, we came up with something even better.

A piece of rebar, a bent steel I-beam, some wire mesh, a long screw with three nuts on it, some packing tape, a metal bracket and an assortment of weeds. I sure can't wait to see what treasures the rest of the yard has in store!

We tried to put Mikey to work, to earn his room and board, but as soon as we turned our backs, we found him sleeping on the job. I don't know, maybe three months is a little young for manual labor. We'll wait 'til he's at least six months before we make him mow the lawn.

It is dang important to practice looking good while shoveling. I often practice! You look great doing it. I think your neighbors will be impressed! Mikey's such a slacker, fallin' asleep on the job!
