I Need To Stop Getting Behind

I think it's time for another "Good Idea, Bad Idea"... (extra credit for the first person to name the TV show that's from).

Good idea: Ice fishing in December. Bad idea: Ice fishing in December with a baby and no shelter. (We didn't last long before I got the little bugger back into the warm car!)

Good idea: growing teeth. Bad idea: biting Mommy with new teeth.

Good idea: buying a used piano from craigslist for $150. Bad idea: trying to move piano by myself to center it under the pictures on the wall.

Good idea: baking a blueberry cheesecake from scratch. Bad idea: sharing the cheesecake. j/k.

Good idea?: going for a walk in January in Colorado. Bad idea: going for a walk in January in Colorado. (Another outing that didn't last long. We're wimps in the cold.)

Good idea: going potty with Daddy. Bad idea: going potty ON Daddy. (Don't worry, he kept it in the bowl.)

Good idea: stopping by Provo to visit cousin Mya. Bad idea: only taking three pictures and this was the best one. Sorry Mya! We couldn't get you to look at the camera!

Good idea: doing a little knitting whilst on the potty chair. Bad idea: doing a little potty while in the knitting basket.

Good idea: putting a hand made in indonesia sticker on your head. Bad idea: putting a hand made in indonesia sticker in your mouth.

Good idea: getting Grandpa to give you rides. Bad idea: playing with Grandpa's toys like the nail gun.

Good idea: reading a book in Grandma's cozy chair by lamp light. Bad idea: reading a book in Grandma's toilet by the sound of rushing waters.

Good idea: being mighty as the Redwood in the front yard. Bad idea: planting a giant Redwood in a really small front yard... give it a hundred years and you'll see what I mean.

Good idea: green grass in February. Bad idea: living in Colorado where grass won't be green for three more months.

Good idea: taking pictures of beautiful California out a moving car window. Bad idea: dropping camera out of moving car window.

Good idea: playing with Grandma outside on the bricks. Bad idea: eating bricks.

Good idea: exploring your surroundings under supervision. Bad idea: exploring bugs by tasting them.

Good idea: sticking your tongue out like Michael Jordan. Bad idea: falling on your face while your tongue is sticking out.

Good idea: crawling on a playground in warm California. Bad idea: crawling on a playground in a volcano.

Good idea: making Kevin's birthday cake out of rice krispie treat. Bad idea: not eating more of said birthday treat before Kevin finished it off.

Good idea: bathing. Bad idea: bathing in rattlesnakes.

Good idea: strategically placed washcloths. Bad idea: strategically placed wolverines.

Good idea: climbing stairs in the condo at Crested Butte. Bad idea: climbing stairs in Crested Butte with your eyes closed in the dark.

Good idea: watching Mom take your picture. Bad idea: not taking enough pictures of Mikey.

Good idea: staying for free in Kevin's boss's condo for a weekend. Bad idea: staying for free in Kevin's boss's condo when the heat isn't working.

Good idea: bison. Bad idea: stuffed bison head staring at you while you have a romantic evening by the fireplace.

Good idea: trying ice fishing again now that we have a warm shelter and propane heater. Bad idea: trying ice fishing again before Mikey knows how to walk.

Good idea: feeding Mikey yellow fruit snacks while ice fishing. Bad idea: feeding Mikey yellow snow while ice fishing.

Good idea: mohawks in the bathtub. Bad idea: sharks in the bathtub.

Good idea: celebrating Mikey's first birthday at his grandparents' house in West Jordan. Bad idea: celebrating Mikey's first birthday next year.

Good idea: having your cake and eating it too. Bad idea: eating your bib because it has frosting on it.

Good idea: taking a video of Mikey on his first birthday. Bad idea: whoever made it so that loading videos onto Blogger takes hours for a two-minute video. (Or is it just my computer?)

Good idea: having a second cake at home on your real birthday. Bad idea: using frosting as a hair product.

Good idea: lighting a candle and blowing it out on your birthday. Bad idea: touching the flame because it's the shiniest thing in the room.

Good idea: sprinkles. Bad idea: wrinkles.

Whew! And that gets you pretty much caught up on our lives since Christmas. We're having a grand ol' time watching Mikey as he grows. He just had his one year check up with the pediatrician and he has officially hit the big 20 pounds, plus 1.5 ounces! We can turn his car seat forward. Hooray! He also measured in at 29 3/4 inches long. We love our little guy.
