As much as I miss an alpine landscape or towering sandstone cliffs, I'm not without opportunities to lose myself in nature, and this time of year the legendary fall colors in Virginia are in full glory. Getting in touch with the natural world and all the life and beauty it contains is important for my own well being, and it was really good for me at this time of my life. Yesterday I went for a run down by the James River, and I was so overwhelmed with the beauty of the colors that I decided to retrace my steps this morning before church with my camera in hand. This was a very pleasant diversion for my poor mind as I count down the days (27) until the big day. I miss Jeebs tremendously, and I need productive activities like this to keep me from dwelling on how much I miss her. I can't wait until I can afford a nice SLR with some nice lenses to boot to really capture the details. I just wish I could have shared the amazing experience with Jeebers......

Beautiful scenery and awesome photos of it. How could a new camera make them any better? I vote Jamie moves to Virginia, too!
Beautiful pictures! Maybe I'll come hang out with you before the wedding instead of with Jamie. JUST KIDDING JAMIE!
that looks so beautiful! I bet that Jamie wishes she was there with you too... soon you guys will be married though! woo hoo!
So gorgeous! I miss trees :-(
Too bad we can't go to the winds during this time of year, I bet it would compare. Funny, I thought Jamie posted this at first and thought to myself, "Self, is it just me or is Jamie starting to sound like Kevin?"
For Jeebs...
Rantsess: n, not just plural but double plural for rant. Made famous by smeagle, a ficticious character in The Lord of the Rings.
Beautiful pics Kevin! I thought Virginia was one of the prettiest places I have ever been, But I kind of have a thing for trees. I too am pining for a loaded SLR.
LESS than one month to go!
Jamie, nice winter locks!
guess what! i get to run the richmond half. i hope it looks like this.
ressests - the exhilaration resulting when children get enough recess.
It is so gorgeous. You probably couldn't find a more perfect place to run... unless it was ANYWHERE with Jamie, of course:)
We enjoyed walking along the James River. Has it really been almost a month ago? It is a perfect Kodak moment every where you look ...errr was that a SLR ‘want a be’ moment? We are sure happy to hand the Santa Claus reins over to Jamie!:)
I love the pictures!
