So I had a patient today bring me two fishing hooks used for sharks, a 20 year old fishing catalog, a rusted out and filthy Kmart fly-fishing reel, and 5 articles printed off the internet about business casual attire for men and women, proper attire at a country club and proper behavior at a country club
????????????????????????
Anyways, I passed the last of my board exams, so I'm almost officially a dentist......
Also, for those who haven't been paying attention to world news, there has been a recent and destructive earthquake in L'Aquila, Italy. I served longer in this city than any other in the mission field, and fell in love with the city and the ancient buildings, some of which over 500 years old. No members were injured, but my former branch president and former district president are now homeless, living in tents or out of their car. About 30000 people are now homeless, maybe more, which is about half of the city. Please keep these people in your prayers as they try and overcome this tragedy and rebuild their lives. Thanks.

I heard about the earthquake and am ashamed to say that I didn't give it much thought. I will now though, since it's been brought back to my attention. It's so easy, when you don't know anyone involved, to forget that these things happen to real people and that it doesn't just go away because it's so distant from us.
P.S. Those "gifts" from your patient are a crackup. I hope you learn how to dress (and behave) before you join the country club.

That's so sad, Kevypoo. I heard about it too but, like Neesh, didn't think too much about it. I guess that happens a lot when you don't know anyone or it isn't as close to home. But we will pray for them.
But congrats on passing! That's something to be very happy about!

Congrats sweetheart!
We were so sorry to hear of the earthquake and quickly wondered about the saints there and your many friends.
A part of me rejoiced I did not have a missionary serving there at this time:) May Heavenly Father watch over and bless them. I hope the current missionaries will be a blessing in the clean up and open up doors for the gospel to be taught.

P.S. Woo Hoo you are a Dentist!
Oh, and congratulations on becoming a dentist. CHEERS!!!
Congratulations! I am sure it is such a GOOD feeling. Every once in a while I will still have a nightmare about being short a credit to graduate, or of missing a final or some other haunting collegish dream. Glad you no longer have to stress about any of that! You big dental stud.
Sad about L'Aquila. I didn't realize that's where you had been.
What a considerate patient you had...life as a public servant will never be boring. That wasn't payment for treatment, was it? :)
