FHE activity

Blank wooden ornaments from Michaels, on sale for about 20 cents each

Kevin gets his painting on...

Our first home, complete with house number 586. Isn't Kevin talented with a paintbrush?

All of our ornaments finished. Kevin also gets credit for the flames on the side of Santa's sled :)

Our first Christmas tree in our first house. Lots of firsts this year. Thanks to Cheryl for helping us get this bargain Black Friday tree. It was 70% off! And it's the perfect size for our small but growing ornament collection.

In tribute to last year's Christmas tree (see below), we used the same "star" at the top of our tree this year. A gold gift bow. Our tree is special to us, even if the decorations are a little ghetto... I mean eclectic.

Our live Christmas tree from last year. It even had a heartbeat and hair. Those kind are hard to find. :)

So fun. I love doing crafts for FHE. Lyza loves it and Brian usually gets into it which makes it even more fun!

It is the traditions that you set now that will hold the most memories. We still hang two piranhas on our tree each year in tradition of our first year of meager ornaments. They are still one of my favorite ornaments because of the memories of that first Christmas.

It will be the story of your first 'live Christmas Tree' that you will share with you children and enjoy for years to come.

Good job, jeebs! Looking really good, but not near as much personality as last year's tree.

I love how your 1st Christmas tree turned out! I am glad you enjoyed making the ornaments together and I agree with Cherie about your very first tree being talked about with your posterity.
"Grandma was their very first Christmas tree and wore a green sweat shirt and gold bow on her head!!!"
See you tomorrow:D!!!

I want a little gingerbread house ornament with our address on it - CUTE! Olivia took a peak & now she wants to paint ornaments too - good idea! Is the little peanut baby hanging around somewhere?

Olivia took a "peek" - can't seem to formulate coherent thoughts when I type with a kid on my lap. :)

Yep, the peanut is hanging on the tree too :)
